Now protect  your Log Home with  Sikaflex
Polyurethane Sealant

Sika’™s Sikaflex-201 is a  high quality, one-component flexible, polyurethane based, elastomentric sealant, generally used in log structures over 2 years old.  It has excellent adhesion to wooden logs and affords permanent flexibility. It  cures to a tough, durable, elastic consistency with excellent cut and tear  resistance. It exhibits high recovery making it ideal for sealing dynamically moving joints. Tack free time is 4 to 8 hours. Elongation is 700% at break and  120-psi lap shear. Application temperature range is 20F to I OOF. It can be painted over with water, oil or rubber based paints. It can be used to seal  either interior or exterior openings in log homes. It is designed for joints  with a maximum size of ½” deep by 1’wide when  movement does not exceed plus or minus 25% of the total width of joint (class A sealant). It meets Federal Spec. TT-S-00230C, Type II, Class A and is approved  by USDA, FDA and NSF.

Sika’™s Sikaflex 219LM formulation allows greater movement (plus or minus 50%) of joint width. It is generally used in new construction when shrinkage (loss of moisture) of logs or  settling caused by the weight of the structure creates dynamic  movement.
