All our sealants are DURABLE, STRETCHABLE and TIME-TESTED.

Each forms a tight seal that keeps out wind, rain and insects and must be applied by manufacturer specifications. Performance is for the life of your home.  They provide:

  • Aesthetic appeal - look authentic and provide a feeling of structural integrity.

  • Flexibility - provide adequate resiliency to absorb the expected amount of log movement.

  • Bonding ability - material must bond to wet and dry logs with sufficient strength to assure a long-term seal.

  • Breakdown - resist exposure to natural elements such as rain, ultraviolet, ozone and freeze thaw cycles.

  • Mechanical strength - strong enough to withstand normal mechanical abuse.

  • Application ease- appropriate viscosity and qualities to allow workability and stabilization during application. Actual application methods are suitable for homeowner application and large scale commercial application.

  • Maintainability - easy to repair and have the ability to blend in with existing materials, as well as washability.

Log End Seal protects exposed log ends from deterioration due to the elements. Sunlight, wind, rain, snow and ice all play a role in degrading wood surfaces. This is especially true for log ends where the end grain is exposed and cracks and checks are prone to develop. Even if the ends are coated with a quality stain, the exposed grain of the wood acts like small straws sucking water into the log. This gives rot and decay an opportunity to start. If left unprotected, log or log corner replacement may eventually be required.

Log End Seal is a clear finish that helps to keep water from penetrating into the log ends and provides a durable layer of protection against sun, wind, and weather damage.

Since 1981, Perma-Chink Log Home Sealant has proven itself on thousands of chinked and chinkless style homes to become the most widely applied chinking in the world. It's simply the best chinking by every measure: longevity, appearance, performance and ease of application.

Perma-Chink is a pure acrylic that adheres to logs and stretches to maintain a tight seal by following log movement.

Available in 5-gallon pails, 30-oz. tubes and 11-oz. tubes.

Perma-Chink Colors

The newest member of our sealant family, Energy Seal, was created specifically to seal milled or scribed log homes. One application makes any log wall completely weather-tight. Energy Seal has excellent adhesion and stretch. It is long-lasting, UV-stable and chemical-resistant.
Unlike commonly used caulks, which look shiny and artificial, Energy Seal is textured to match the visual characteristics of wood. It easily tools to a smooth, professional finish, virtually disappearing into the walls after it's applied.

It softens the lines on log walls and accepts the color of wood finishes. In fact, Energy Seal so closely matches your walls, most people can't tell the seams are sealed.

Apply Energy Seal per application instructions.        Backer Rod

Available in 5-gallon pails, 30-oz. tube and 11-oz. tubes.

Comes in colors to match most woods or in gray to complement the chinking on your house.

Stack-n-Seal is a dual-purpose sealant designed to not only serve as an internal seal, but also provide excellent adhesive qualities.  Stack-n-Seal will remain flexible and help to maintain a seal should the logs move or twist over a period of time.

Stack-n-Seal is included in your Tennessee Log Home Package

Apply Stack-n-Seal per Manufacturer's specifications.

Available in Lifeline Colors,  the Check-Kit includes a 32-oz., reusable tube of Check Mate with applicator nozzle and 100 feet of Backer Rod.

Check Mate is an outstanding water resistant sealant that prevents water and air infiltration through pronounced cracks (called checks) in logs, timbers and wood siding. Caulking is an obvious solution to this problem, but caulking does not work because of limits in adhesion and weatherability.

It's especially important to seal upward-facing checks that will accumulate water. Otherwise, these will be sites where rot will start in the logs. Checks that occur on the sides of a home exposed to excessive wind or rain should also be filled.

Superior flexibility and elongation makes long-lasting QSL the premium caulk available for the construction industry.

Manufacturers, applicators and log homeowners understand and appreciate products that are compatible. As a multi-purpose sealant, QSL is used inside and out with preservatives, stains and chinking. It has excellent adhesion to numerous building materials. QSL meets all federal and local building specifications for an ASTM230-grade

QSL is an extremely durable, long-term caulk (guaranteed for 50 years) expressly designed for log homes. QSL can be painted with quality latex and oil-based stains and paints. And it cleans up fast with just soap and water.

Chink-Paint also saves time and labor, because it eliminates the need to mask off chinking prior to re-staining. Simply wait for the stain to dry, then apply a coat of Chink-Paint.

Chink-Paint is a highly elastomeric, textured latex coating for renewing or changing the color of chinking, making it ideal for giving a facelift to log homes. Its elasticity enables it to expand and contract with Perma-Chink or Energy Seal without cracking or peeling.
