| The saddle notch contour was also marked with the scribe instrument. The center of the saddle notch is cut away. | ||

| Notice that the pencil line is never touched with the saw. A hammer is used to knock out the big chunks. | ||

| The saw is used to further clean out the saddle notch. | ||
 |

| Finally, a chisel is used to fine-tune the notch. The result is a perfectly matched fit as shown above. | ||
